i looked up the original because i saw a film about chaplin a min ago and i wondered if he actually did this, was pretty ballsy alot of people must have hated him for the (hittlers followers) and others must love him.

you do realize that it was hitler who stole Chaplin's look to look sympathizing. This was the last Chaplin movie where he used the mustache.
