i love your videos. i have learned SO much just by watching you. You are a great teacher!
One thing i have not been able to figure out is how to make something round -hat maybe-- in a spiral, in half double crochet.
i can do it easily with a single crochet, but i don;t like that stitch too much. and when i try the same thing with a double or half double, it shows a seem, not much like a spiral anymore.
can you help me with that?

@mrsdreazy05 You can start with how ever many chains as you would like. There is a multiple of 3. What do you want to make. If you are making a baby blanket, you would want a chain of 150-175.

I want to crochet a scarf, how many stitch is needed to start the first chain (1st row)??? and how wide is the scarf for this?

@udon890 How wide you want your scarf is preference. I suggest that you make a chain to the width you are looking for and then crochet your first row. You may end up with extra chain. If you do, you can sew in the extra chain between your stitches.
