This is the Demo Version of the seminal 80's synth pop hit Cars by Gary Numan (although it was actually originally a hit in 1979 and not the 80's).
Recorded as part of the Demo sessions for the Pleasure Principle it features the band that would tour with him until his first farewell in 1981 (minus Billy Currie, who left after the Touring Principle to have hits with Ultravox).

I actually like this version, though I think it would sound a bit better just based on a higher note. Too low for some reason.

@njomahony No doubt the final version is better but this demo really demonstrates the raw sounds of the polymoog

the word weak and tinny comes to mind. amazing what a little production can do. still a top tune though.
