An awesome, haunting song sung by this bloke at a very traditional pub in a village in South Armagh.

The song he's singing (acc to most) is called Lough Erne's Shore.

I didn't want to disturb the singer; which was why I didn't move the camera to his face. He's got such a great voice.

  • What is Gareth's last name? Has he recorded anything or are there any other videos of him on youtube? he is fantastic and I hope he has other songs out-I'd buy one of his albums in a heartbeat.

  • @123acmilanfan Lough Erne's Shore pronounced "lock erins shore"

  • Pathetic, trad irish songwriting and song is for all irish men and woman, we all live on this island, recall briefly if you will this was once one island and division was and is instigated purposely. Think about it, but do not loose your heritage whether catholic or protestant, does not matter.

  • 7th generation irish american loool. ur american end off noob.do u think we recognise all u as irish.deluded.ur as irish as im american and i aint american

  • THERE IS NOTHING AS FUCKING IGNORANT AS REFERRING TO IRELAND AS

"IRELAND AND NORTHERN IRELAND". ARE THERE TWO IRELANDS? I COULD HAVE SWORN T HERE WAS ONLY ONE. THE DUBLIN GOV'T IS NOT THE GOV'T OF IRELAND. IT IS THE GOV'T OF THREE QUARTERS OF IRELAND. DITTO THE PREZIDENT.

JUST THOUGHT YOU'D ALL LIKE TO KNOW.

P.S. - THERE ARE 32 COUNTIES, NOT 26 COUNTIES, IN IRELAND. BUT HOW DO YOU TELL THAT TO A THICK FROM SOUTHERN IRELAND? EDUCATE THE FUCKING LOWER CLASSES, i SAY.

  • Wish I could find a vocal version of this song besides this one!!!!!!!!!!

  • @eyeofexistence immaturity for a guy with a name like that. Enjoy your self righteousness mate! Cheers!

  • @Freshhhhh1982 as a man living in the north, I CAN tell you to shut the fuck up, you aren't irish.

  • @123acmilanfan Lough Erne Shore. The video recording starts about halfway through the song. There is a good version of the song on the Andy Irvine and Paul Brady release, but it's hard to track down other versions as the title "Lough Erne (or Erin) Shore" often refers to an entirely different song that is also known as "Gleanntan Glas Gaoith Dobhair" or "Paddy's Green Shamrock Shore." And it just gets more confusing from there.
