The Minivan Vayaa Buzura dance is now a classic in Maldives culture and, here, forms part of an evening celebrating 100 years of the International Womens Day. The event was organised jointly by Thirees Nuvaeh and UNFPA.
This is the original dance choreo of this dance. My western friends loved watching it. I dont understand why Maldives Tourism ministry doesnt allow the original dances like these been performed at tourism festivals like ITB fairs. Instead they always take some Goma group who performs hindi style dances to a maldivian song, dressed in modified modern versions of our traditional dances. I think we ourselves are ruining out beautiful culture whicn once exhisted.
