  • Their songs didnt have the catchiness to them that Nirvana had. They weren't as musically pleasing. Kurt wrote catchy riffs. Thats the difference. Mudhoney was more raw, and they stayed that way, but they didn't compose very catchy music. Whatever that says about Nirvana, good or bad, its just a fact, friend. Plus in my opinion Cobain had a much better voice, whether screaming or singing.

  • @Hellon999 Totally agree!

  • Teenage Fanclub, Nirvana, Mudhoney, Melvins,

    Screaming Trees, Pavement, Ride...

    PERFECT Festival! 90's Golden era.

  • @ryanthethird thats what made them NOT nirvana it made them MUDHONEY

  • Mudhoney, I fucking love this band. They are amazing and sound kick ass live.

  • @ryanthethird By the way, the Kapu concert was cool, but I prefer the one they did in Westwood, at Rhino Records. You know, a bit after the release of Bleach, when Everman was still a guitarist.

  • @ryanthethird Screaming and smoking (it doesn't matter when you screamed or smoked) periodically will make your vocal chords more powerful, then comes the raspiness. Cobain smoked and he screamed alot in Fecal Matter, that made his vocals perfect for punk rock. He already had the tone, he just needed the raspiness.

I think it doesn't really matter if he didn't smoke during tours. Actually, was a smart decision. The screaming would fuck his chords up enough.

  • @IdiotActionFilms Hmmm. Actually, Cobain's voice was WAY better when he was in his early 20s. Search "Nirvana, live at Kapu". It's the best Nirvana you'll find online. Kurt was still super enthusiastic about the music then; the drugs hadn't taken that away yet. Oh, and before they got really famous, Kurt would never smoke when he was touring, so he could preserve his voice. And that concludes your lesson for today.

  • God, the 1992 Reading Festival line up was so awesome. L7,Mudhoney, I think Screaming Trees played and Nirvana. It would of been so cool to see that show.

  • @ryanthethird it's weird to compare 2 very different bands though they're both in the same genre..one is an unbelievable breakthrough, while the other's a pioneer, a classic and a legend..
