i gotta say.. i drove thru that roundabout yesterday and it was one of the most poorly marked and designed ones in the country...
btw... what is St Simons Islands Issue with not putting Road Signs up... i had to go past the airport before i realized i was on Demere Rd

They just recently quit writing tickets and took down some of the complicated signs (orders from above - it made for bad press as if it were a bad decision to go to roundabout). But this is a tourist Island and lots of people haven't dealt with a roundabout before (this is South Georgia). So,.. round and round we go. lol

Oh no! Did they get a ticket??
haha that Roundabout ruins lives.
And slows down traffic.

I think Georgia in general believes that street signs are a waste of money. lol Yeah, we could do with more signs.
The round-a-bout had more signs but they took them down because everyone was stopping and trying to figure them out. They put up the Yield signs after that. lol

In the city where I was used to lived, We had 2 roundabouts And they were working very well
The problem with that one is... it should be as twice as big as it is !!!! it's too small
and if you don't know how it works than you slow down the whole traffic. small like that you have to be agressive!!! that mean that when you have a chance to go,,, TAKE IT AND DON"T WAIT. Also the signs are YIELD not STOP... why people are stopping ???

One year later and people still don't know how to drive the round-about. Near accidents every day. But it is now off limits for tickets since the county commissioners don't want to admit they might have made any mistake with the design.

St. Simons Island has a relatively new round about at the busiest intersection on the small Island. It is resulting in much confusion on this Island which has lots of tourist traffic. Just educating the Islanders is turning into a difficult task.

The new roundabout on St. Simons Island is still resulting in much confusion. Tickets were being written as fast as possible but could not keep up with the violators. Basically, you can't turn right from the inside (left) lane (as you approach roundabout).
