  • Is the knife sharp? Does it hold its edge well?

  • The knife came very sharp but it is a softer steel so it needs to be sharpened on a normal basis. That is typical with that type of steel though.

  • By the way, is it just mine or does the safety on yours rattle when you shake it?

  • The blade steel im not sure about but mine also rattles. Gerber does not like to stamp the blade steel on the knives... a lot of knife people like to call it Gerbers "Mystery" Steel.

  • 440 stainless steel is not a "Mystery" steel... I would like it if they stamped the blade with the info, but they don't.

  • the fact that they dont stamp the blade is the reason that it is called mystery steel. I know 440 is not a mystery but the fact that gerber does not tell you is.

  • I love this knife, Simple easy to use.

  • I got the straight edge version of this knife, amazing blade

  • One thing I thought was interesting, that wasnt really necessary, was YOUR FUCKING FINGERNAILS. Dude, perform some work. Chew your nails. strip that clear polish, find some grease or dirt, and rub that shit in. Order it online if you have to. Man up those nails ASAP.

  • did you say its not a real intresting knife or its not

  • you sound like dane cook lol

  • the lock holds the blade open too, so I lock it open when I'm using it. I also clip it inside my waistline, so i lock it there too to prevent cutting myself accidentally

  • It is a nice knife, one of my favs. Btw, the safety lock is there so when the blade is open, and say your slicing something, you don't accidentally push the release and potentially have it fold shut and slice your fingers open. Nice feature in my opinion.

  • Quite a few knife makers do not mark the blades with steel type. Gerber does list it on their website so it's not that big of a mystery.

I have a CRKT that has country of production, model number and name of the knife all imprinted on the blade, but they leave off the steel type... Which was AUS-6
