With comfortable spaces, quiet corners and natural surroundings, Kansas City Hospice House promotes a sense of peace and allows patients and families to let go of the uneasiness and anxiety that comes with serious illness.
Pain and symptom management - Pain, shortness of breath, anxiety or other distressing symptoms sometimes need evaluation and round-the-clock management by doctors and nurses.
End of life care - Short-term inpatient care to manage symptoms, maintain patient comfort and support family members.
Kansas City Palliative Medicine Clinic is also located inside the Hospice House. The clinic's physicians compliment care provided by personal physicians and help manage pain and other distressing symptoms for those not ready for hospice care.
Services are usually covered by Medicare, Medicaid and some private insurance policies. As a nonprofit organization, Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care is dedicated to serving all patients in need, regardless of their ability to pay.
