  • does the fumes from the paint make your oven Poison? can u still eat food from the oven?

  • @00honey000 There are no fumes from the pens to poison your oven. I would definitely follow the directions on the pen exactly to prevent any mishaps.

  • A great tutorial but one thing I notice you do different is that you preheat the oven. Per several other web sites, you are suppose to put the tile in as the oven is heating up so it will not crack. You are also suppose to let it cool down completely before taking the tile out. I don't know personally which one is right. I was just doing research looking for a different kind of paint pen. Again, you do a great job on the tutorial.

  • @olbadman Hmmmm...good to know. The tiles I used and I think the pens said to preheat oven but it's been so long I'm not 100% sure. I didn't have any problems with tiles or plates so I think you can do what you feel is best. Maybe buy a few test ones and see how your oven reacts to tiles before committing to a design. Great information to pass on. Thanks!

  • Are they safe to eat off of?

  • @kepr1 I believe the pens are food safe but excessive washing will eventually take off the finish so I would use them just for decoration. Also, if you are using utensils, they will scratch the paint. Make sure to read the label, too, just in case!
