Love this game, but It will only improve your techinque and teach you some songs. You still need to learn tabulature and get a tuner for songs that are not on the game. If there is an add on tuning pack pm me

Darn these character limits...

Anyway, as I was playing Unnatural Selection on the game, I noticed that it wanted me to play a few notes higher up the neck during the slow "solo" part of the song. I played them in the lower part but it still counted them as being correct notes. Rocksmith is a fun game (for as far as I've tried it), but I wish it wasn't so damn expensive. Next to concert tickets, guitar lessons and the cost of fuel, it's hard for me and people like me to afford a game like this.

You don't have to "level up" to play the song how it's supposed to be played, though. If you already know certain parts, or the whole song, you can just play it without waiting for all the notes to appear. If the game is programmed that let players play the song as you do, your notes won't be counted as wrong and the note increase will simply happen faster.

Don't forget that Rocksmith is, at it's core, still just a game. People play games for fun. If you liked Guitar Hero (I liked it because I could listen to music and still be active) then you'll probably appreciate Rocksmith due to it's depth.

I'm borrowing it from my brother for a few days and it's quite nice. Sometimes the changes in difficulty are quite awkward and either too slow or too fast, but overall it's quite fun, and a decent guitar game.

Not single strings, single notes. Pretty easy to pick up. Now chords... A different story indeed.
