The drag queens in San Francisco's Tenderloin district first hear of transsexualism as a viable alternative to their present situation.
Part of the 2005 documentary film "Screaming Queens: The Riot at Compton's Cafeteria," directed by Victor Silverman & Susan Stryker, about a San Francisco transgender uprising that predated the New York transgender uprising at the Stonewall Inn.

Such a shame to see how far the LGBT "community" has fallen since the Compton Cafeteria Riots. Back then, they were willing to fight for their rights and dignity. Today, we are happy begging for rights and telling suicidal queer youth "it gets better".
