Weltmeister is a german company from the early years. The quality as you describe is not completely valid either as for example the Weltmeister Cantus Deluxe V is a top quality instrument who can overclass many italian accordions.. They do focus on a lower budget market too so I'd say where Italian accordions are more for the experienced player these are also focussed on beginners. cheers
Weltmeisters are made in East Germany (not China) in a city named Klingenthal. I'm told Weltmeister is the oldest continuously running accordion company (accordions were made in Germany before Italy). The reeds come from Italian companies in the more expensive models. Kimric Smythe who took the footage here, could tell you more as he's dealt with the company for years.
