Hand sketching a simple concept car (Beginner)

dude, something you did cuz u were bored? ugly rims? come on. I'm fifteen and I designed a whole line of concept cars from sports to suvs and trucks to luxury sedans (those are my specialty) and none of them have come out that good. I envy your talent.

Thanks very much for the compliment but I would not say that I possess anything close to a talent. To improve at sketching cars you have to observe other people's works and practice a lot. I've been sketching cars for close to 4 years (playing with them since I was 4 and started reading up a little on cars since I was 12) and to be truthful I've improved tremendously.

I guess practicing and patience both play a huge role in your progress. On the other hand, I think that your ability to come up with a good design concept (not referring to the quality of the sketch) would depend very much on your awareness of the design languages of different car brands. Anyway, don't give up sketching regardless of how busy you are with schoolwork. I mean, you should be on track for schoolwork but it is also possible to do some secret sketching during classes.

Nope, the only stuff I sketch are cars since my interest lies mainly on cars. I'm pretty lousy at sketching other stuff though sketching cars has improved my art in general...

thanks! I've visited your channel and came to know that you use copic markers for rendering.. I've tried marker rendering once but given up because of the lousy final result. You must be real good... Marker rendering is damn hard to master, at least for me.

if your not familiar to car drawing/sketching he is not tracing,the other paper you saw is called an underlay,an underlay is a quick sketch of the same car,yes he is tracing in a way but its not considered tracing hes just making the finished artpiece.or the paper you saw at the beginning could of just been doodles for a different drawing.HE IS NOT TRACING!!!!!

your 15, give yourself time and you will become better, its all about sketch after sketch after sketch, and IDEATION! no matter what idea you have its an idea that you can come back too
