Sundown 10" SD-2 Excursion + Review

Put this one together real quick for those of you looking to put a downfiring system together. Note the seats fold down on top of the box, just had it facing horizontally to show excursion of the subs.

So the port noise was def not noticeable, right?? My other option would be a sealed subthump box with 2 sa 10. I just wish I could hear both boxes in person

@vjohn057707 no, it's not noticable whatsoever. but to be quite honest, I'm not sure what kind of setup you're aiming for, you can get a lot more output by getting a custom box to fire outwards - sit still seats the same, but I'm getting MUCH more output while spending roughly exactly the same - are you from Louisiana? if not I advise asking around for a custom subwoofer box builder to get them facing out.

how do you like your box? I am thinking of going with the exact set up you have but im just worried about the port noise being to loud. A sundown dealer told me the SD 2 might push too much air for the small ports on the box. What do you think??

@vjohn057707 To be honest, I think it was great for most, but being a "basshead," I opted to upgrade. These subs are very accurate and have descent low-end, I changed the setup to two RE SEx 10's in a box firing outward, tuned to 38 hz (still AQ 1200D for power). If you have the same truck, be aware that you can get a mounting depth of 6.5" more than enough for sundown SA's or RE SEX (basically your two best options for the money) Good luck man, and don't forget to post your new gear!

@dkash02 The new box is firing outward - and to answer your origional question, there was a little port noise, but the ports are facing to the rear of the cab so you can't hear it nor any distortion. You're increasing sound quality while sacrificing SPL when going downfiring (in my experience).
