Kelly's Upside Down Vegetable Garden - Update 03

This is the update for Thursday June 11, 2009. I am going on a business trip so I thought I would get this posted before I leave. All I added this week is a 10 gallon bucket of Carrots but they haven't started coming in yet. Other than that I have lots of new growth on the tomatoes and the squash is all of a sudden starting to take off. I will say that keeping the suckers pruned back on the tomatoes allows the plant to concentrate on fruit as opposed to leaf production. It's also a good idea to keep any dead or damaged leaves off of the plants because it won't spend time trying to repair them. You want the plants to spend all their time on new growth and fruit. Keep the comments and suggestions coming. It is always great to get everyone's feedback on what I am doing and get new ideas. Happy Gardening!!

I would love to see how you cut back your tomato plants back. I'm grown 2 right now (upside down) and they are huge compare to yours, but I don't have as much flowers as you. I can send you pictures if you want. any help will be great.. thanx..

All I do is prune the suckers off of the plant and they spend their time growing fruit instead of growing leaves. I have another video that I did after this one so you can see the progress. In my next video I will explain a little about pruning. I should have it posted in the next few days.

Your cucumbers in the ground needs alot more water.... Cucumber itself at flower can be 2 inches long in the morning and by 6pm tripple in size...

Key is LOTS OF WATER!! and Urea.
