While they are technically in the same category, they are completely different cars. The Chrysler 300 has improved a lot in terms of build quality. As you correctly mentioned, it is RWD and has an available V8. So it is a better performer than the Avalon (although the V6 is a little on the sluggish side). Personally, I find the Avalon more comfortable and the car with the more pleasant interior cabin. I would wait for the full redesign late next year, which should be very nice.
Just out of curiosity, how do this car stack up against the 2011 Chrysler 300? I mean, they're both full size sedans, both have and both have a V6 with similar mileage, though the 300 does have a HEMI in some of them, and is RWD, which usually has better performance. Which car would be a better buy
