Testing out a new electrolyte with this series cell. The K2CO3 might not be as harsh on different types of materials used for a HHO cell.

  • that was cool. Is there a difference in price between potassium carbonate and KOH? 5:5

  • I think they are pretty close to the same price. 10lbs of Potassium Hydroxide is around $21.00 and Potassium Carbonate is around $15.00. from Ebay.

  • Where can potassium carbonate be purchased? Is it easily available in department stores (like some kind of special kind of salt)?

Or is it only available in special chemical element supply stores?

Does it make a significant difference (in amount of H production) comparing to regular salt or soda? Thank you!

I admire work of mdbreedi as well as of the community as whole!

  • You can get it off Ebay. Stuff is pretty reasonable. Seen some, 5 lbs for a little over $10.00. Can be purchased at chemical supply stores 50 lbs at a time if need be.I think the 50 lbs is not much more than the 5 lbs on Ebay.

  • How much did it cost to build this cell? Thats alot of stainless. I assume my the water clarity that you are using 316l?

  • All the 304 Stainless was scrap from CNC machining center doors that wrecked and were replaced. The HDPE, (Black Plastic, UHMW cost me around 50 dollars. These plates were conditioned for a while and sanded then cleaned used rubber gloves to put them in the cell and used distilled water and low concentration of KOH on the first test with this cell. Good place to get stainless is Metal Express on the net. Use them a lot at work. Will give online instant prices also.

  • check "ZeroFossilFuel" here in YouTube, he is also building HHO units. He has a nice flash back protection. He is using some thin plastic which will break in case of flash back. Check his videos for more details.
