Has Att provided an actual reason for caps yet?

Our networks are bogged down by abusers?

We all know the cable co's have issues with the way their network works, but at&t's network doesn't have these kind of bottlenecks. With DSL you have your own data line running to a local backbone for the most part. In fact they run PPV and local tv channels through the same way you get your Internet. I know many standard channels use multi cast ip technologies, but still that uses a ton of data.

Atts network can magically handle streaming HD video to two of your tv's 24'7 yet you can only download from the Internet for 1 day out of the month? I would be getting 1/30th of the service I pied for.

18Mbps = 2.25MBps = 135MB per min = 8.1GB per hour = 194.4 GB per day

. OOPS I went over my 150gb cap in ONE DAY.

Watch 2.5HR of live HD video, and record 2.5 hr of HD video to your dvr over the course of the month would = 12mbps (two 6.5mbps video streams) would use 3.8 TB a month!

I don't even think its particularly unrealistic to day some people use their HD tv 5 hours a day, or have more than one HD tv in the house in use at a time, yet I can only use my Internet for 1 day out of the month? What?

Why could video content get the golden treatment?

I talked about this issue with AT&T according to one person this is still being talked about. According to another it has been in effect since April 20,2011. A tech person e-mailed me a link about the proposed caps. If you watch at least 20-50 movies per month you could easily use 100gb if you watch 100 that would be 200gb. This is AT&T really trying to bury their competition;Netflix. All the companies who are proposing this offer some type of cable of expensive internet!

But here is the problem... what do we do now? you and me both see this issue for what it is, but at this point AT&T has gotten away with this with little news coverage, little complaints. The sad ~4000 views on this video is no where near the ~80,000,000 people AT&T serves.

@jellokim downloads are typically rated in bytes, and internet speed is advertised in bits 8 byte = 1 bit

so your getting 2.4mbps which is normal if you have 3mbps dsl.

Ppl of YouTube!!! I am trying to put together some kind of ISP that offers NO CAPS on internet service (~ 20Mbps/5Mbps). Who is with me?? It is time we the ppl take charge. This is a fight between David and Goliath and we all know how that turned out. So again who is with me???? I am tired of this large corporation only thinking about how to pay the shareholders when in fact we the USERS are the shareholders. We deserve to be treated decently which means NO CAPS on internet service. Thank You!!!

Data caps are fucking unacceptable... Basically saying if you have an Unlimited plan.. YOU SHOULD NOT BE CAPPED!

@wolvezz1 I wholly agree, I recently found out about them trying ot threaten to raise my monthly price by 10 dollars. It goes to show how poor their services REALLY are. Especially with not caring about bringing value to the customers table. ATT FAILS! the consumers overall have the true saying, we must all tell ATT to go to hell and leave them so they can go bankrupt.

lol think you got it bad i have hughesnet internet with a cap of 350mb and the intrenet sucks bad its horrible but its all i can get cant do anything on xbox live or any multiplayer games
