My LONGEST vlog yet! But I think well worth the time if you're interested in the subject discussed - Japanese cell phones.

My new phone is a Sharp IS03 Google Android from AU.

In Japanese, mobile phones are called keitai denwa (携帯電話), literally "portable telephones," and are often known simply as keitai.

If you follow this channel, then you know I didn't have a keitai the entire 5 years I lived in Shimane as a JET ALT.
So I guess it's about time that I joined the overwhelming majority of people in Japan who do have one.

Info about the iPhone in Japan (in English):

Thanks for watching! (especially if you made it the whole vid)

  • Hey Jason, doubtful that you're ever going to read this but I thought I'd just write it anyways. The reason Australia is now considered a part of the AFC ( Asian Football Confederation) is mainly due to the weakness of the Oceania Football Confederation in comparison to the strength of the national team ( ranked 22 now I think). As a part of the OFC Australia was extremely dominant however due to the relative weakness of the competition it was thought that AUS was not being given a fair chance

  • @carpathian94 Thanks for the info. And I read every comment on every video. :)

  • Greenpeace does not support this video.

  • @SaveourForests2 How about Green Peas? Do they support the video?

  • I bought an EXPENSIVE android (much more than any iPhone) with SoftBank using the 24 monthly installments contract plan. When I went to one store, I was refused at first, I showed my gaijin card and my passport and the guy working there told me the 1 year visa thing. (I'm a university student renewing my visa yearly)

Then I went to a smaller store, and I never showed my gaijin card or passport. I showed my national health insurance card and used my credit card. But you gotta speak Japanese.

  • @RandomShortguy thanks for the info. I'm hoping that, now that AU has the iPhone, that I might be able to switch after my 2 year contract ends in Dec 2012. I like my Android, but I know I would like an iPhone even more.
