I had Dr. Orians way back in the Sixties, and he was, beyond all doubt, the best prof. I ever had the pleasure of listening to. I can still remember how I would be unhappy, when each day's class was over, because I just wanted to hear him go on. His lectures were beyond interesting.
At that time, most people would ask you to explain what "ecology" meant, if you told them you were taking an ecology class. The class I took from him was ethology, however, which is about animal behavior.
