You make a fantastic point MargarettaL!
I would also eat meat now and then if it comes straight from nature from free roaming animals. But most meat nowadays comes from animals who live in horrible conditions. So I wont contribute to that. We should show more understanding towards people who still eat meat, it is not easy to make a transition. Nagging about going vegetarian surely wont make anyone wanting to drop meat. It has the opposite effect, and meat eaters feel hurt and get defensive.

I've never seen vegans out in public trying recruit people. Or out at the airport with pamphlets and tamborines. What are you people talking about?

K, not every vegan tries to get people to stop eating meat. The vegans you see on the streets carrying signs and fear mongering annoy me too (I'm vegan, but I never picket people who eat meat or hunt or w/e because I imagine it would be like a meat eater telling me to eat meat over and over.)

A planned out vegan diet is just as healthy as a diet with meat in it. And yeah an omni diet doesn't guarantee good health either, look at how many unhealthy omnivores are out there.

Actually, if everyone got their meat from hunting and fishing, and not from slaughterhouses, I would go back to eating meat. Both of my brother-in-laws fish and hunt and I have no problem with that.

I do have a problem with people giving me crap because I don't eat anything that takes a dump.

Yes, scientists have confirmed that humans are omnivores. No arguments there.

But they've also confirmed that a carefully constructed vegan diet is just fine. Besides, most people worldwide are lactose intolerant, because we're not supposed to have dairy beyond early childhood.

Banning hunting would be absurd. Especially for people living in Alaska. In fact, if I could eat only wild, hunted meat, I might become an omni again.
