The original poem recited by the poet Sahir Ludhianvi himself. Its in urdu and a rare one to find!

Kabhi kabhi mere dil mein khyal aata hai
Kabhi kabhi mere dil mein khyal aata hai
Ke zindagi teri zulfon ki naram chhaaon mein guzarne paati
To shahdaab ho bhi sakti thi
Ye teergi jo meri zees ka mukkaddar hai
Teri nazar ki shuaaon mein kho bhi sakti thi
Ajab na tha ke main begaana-e-alam reh kar
Tere Jamaal ki raanaion mein kho rehta
Tere gudaas badan teri neembaand aankhein
Inhi haseen hassen fasaanon mein main kho rehta
Pukarti mujhe jab talkhiyan zamane ki
Tere labon se halaawat ke ghoont pi leta
Haya cheekthi firti barhe-na-sur
Aur mein ghaneri zulfon ke saaye mein chhup ke jee leta
Magar yeh ho na saka aur ab yeh aalam hai
Ke tu nahi tera gam teri juus-t-juu bhi nahi
Guzar rahi kuchh is tarah se zindagi meri
Jaise isse kisi ke sahare ki aarzoo bhi nahi
Zamane bhar ke dukhon ko laga chukka hun gale
Guzar raha hun kuchh anjani reh-guzaron se

  • it's KABHI KABHI not KHABI KHABI

  • Nelly Furtado's Version is a lot better...

  • @MissCurious007 you clueless fool. Hindi and Urdu both developed out of the same common tongue of Hindustani which was a mix of Farsi/Pashto and numerous north Indian languages. Hindi and Urdu was actually the product of codifying and refining this common and varied bahasa. Hindi drew more on indiginous language and Urdu on its foreign Persian roots. Yet apart from different script a person from each language can understand each other. So to claim they are unlike is total ignorant fallacy.

  • @amoralis123 Where did you get all that from? Urdu comes from Persian. Written urdu has almost same alphabet as Arabic. Hindi is nowhere like Urdu. Original hindi is totally different.

  • @pmaknoni Yes, you are right, love marriages don't have the same survival rate as arranged marriages but that's because, like I have mentione before, it is a family affair, not the the couples' decision. I would also think about twice about getting a divorced if my family disowned me and if my own people treated me as an "untouchable." Think that!

  • this is the best old love song one of my favorites

  • @tigeronpar right there bro..................

  • @maryasha Original is a ghazal from Fraaz. Original name of Urdu is Reekhta. Urdu is a Turkish word for Army. It was a spoken language of the Army of Mughals. It has the sweetness of Persian, Philosophy of the Vedas, flow of Hindi and the ability to swallow words and expressions of other languages lock, stock and barrel. The other language that this ability is English. Both are unique in having present continuous tense. It is a pity that India shunned it. It is a very rich language.

  • @onlystar786 A movie by the same name (Kabhi Kabhie) according to Wiki !!!!

  • @ranmenike i totally agree... Hindi is very nice to listen to .... altho i'm a south indian, i did not learn this beautiful language... i will just settle with listening to hindi songs and people talking this language...
