@41soldat yes, it was a big difference, although after Stalin started to lessen his control, the tactics became better, just as Hitler tightened his control, and their tactics worse.

@xGODZILLAFIREFOXx I did a project last year about the Battle of Stalingrad. One of the most brutal battles of the war and perhaps in history. One thing that a lot of people don't realize is that the U.S.S.R.s population was 180 million and the Germans were about 56 million. Big difference right???

@Oyiem Haha! The Waffen SS were brain washed/drugged soldiers who fought because Hitler told them to (by the way he has Jewish heritage). Both world wars were humiliating defeats for the German people. The Wehrmacht were the countries army, who some of the soldiers may have been Nazis. So Heil the losing/drugged soldiers.

@Samseal16 That depends if you are couting the battle around Stalingrad, which i was, and, you are technically right, the battle itself lasted 7 and a 1/2 months. But if you include the retreat to stalingrad, it was around (just less) than 2 years, when the fighting afterwards is included.
