Obasi lost to Birchler in their MMA debut in Atlantic City.
Shawn Obasi is not a student of Jose Grados anymore, and he only practiced Wing Chun for about less then 4 years but not in regular bases. He only likes to show off and take advantage of the inexperience students and he never trains with Professional students. Studied BJJ at Alliance for at least 4 years. He is a powerful 250 pounder who cut his weight to around 220. He is quite cocky but I thought he had some potential as he took time to train BJJ seriously and is obviously a tough guy with some power in his punches but he only brags about it and proof nothing in Wing Chun or BJJ. Birchler is a former top college wrestler ( I read he was ranked 12 in the country for heavyweight college wrestlers)

a BJJ Blue Belt are often angry and will not try to learn new techniques.

@dawadaha boxing gloves will hamper wing chun guy technique! MMA gloves are open finger if u kud grab u kud trap. If u can't trap in them glove train trapping in them.
