  • @HappyBirthdaySANTA My problem with aikido is that youtube is full of these videos "aikido vs karate" "aikido vs mma" "aikido vs boxing" etc etc etc when in reality it is just two aikido guys and one is posing as the all mighty aikido master while the other poses as the said MA. Then they proceed to do these phony throws and takedowns and crap and the "other" MA flops around like a rag doll and the "aikido master" dominates. I think it is disrespectful to the other MA's to do that BS.

  • I am so bored of these couch MMA supporters. In real self defense terms going to the ground is likely to get you killed. Reason 1..you can't run away if your lying on your back. Reason 2..clinch with an armed opponent and your dead.. Reason 3..if your rolling around on the ground your relying on the compassion of who ever else is standing around..I've seen more than one person booted to blazes by the crowd once they went down..Reason 4..its a sport..it has rules..

  • @RHOOWL By knowing how to take it to the ground, you also know how to avoid it or escape it if you ever get in that position. My safety tips is: 1.Be sober 2.Avoid certain areas in town,be street smart 3.Ignore verbal provocation or name calling

Street fights are a gamble,in you go all-in,that's what you could lose (your health or your life) I have no pride to defend against an unknown jerk verbally attacking me in the street,he means nothing to me...if he psychically attacks my gf-another story

  • @ronin752 I carry a firearm for exact reasons such as that. i know i sound cocky, but if no weapons are available, and i KNOW it is just me versus him, i will take it to the ground. If he has friends, i'm not an idiot, i walk away. :) I'm scared of fighting too man, because life is beautiful, and fighting takes that away alot. Love and respect!

  • @zacktillery

Grappling is not good for those situations, and they happen all the time.

1st - If the guys who jump you or ambush you do it correctly, you should never really have a chance. If you do, its because they made a mistake (they often make mistakes), you have an opportunity to defend yourself and get away.

2nd - Different martial arts were created to deal with different types of situations. Instead of knocking the art, learn what they do that is useful, use it, and move on.

  • @zacktillery

No disrespect, I am sure you are a good martial artist, but have you ever been in a real streetfight. I have been in several, and seen many more, with multiple opponents and with one opponent. To hell with trying to beat him, its the scariest shit. I was trying to do damage and get away. I am not talking about bar room brawl, ego monkey dance between two people, I am talking about 3-7 dudes starting shit with you for no reason at all. Little warning, ambush.

  • I'm no coach, but you might have more success kicking him on the right side...

  • not fair he has one arm :P hahaha

  • They both SUCK!! Sorry, not impressed.

  • AIKIDO = SHIT =)

  • the aikido guy is he missing an arm ?

  • @RHOOWL First off, if someone has a weapon it is VERY likely they'll take it out before you even start the confrontation. Secondly, If he has no friends around, why not isolate yourself? You're planning on getting hit anyways, but in this instance you have the advantage with the knowledge of a ground game. Lastly, it might have rules IN THE RING but reall MMA fighters, like me, train for things like eye gouges and nuts grabs/rips/kicks/punches etc. Try again?

  • It's tough to fight when you are missing body parts.

  • @RHOOWL I agree, if its a sport it has "rules". In the "real world" its a free for all. Biting, crotch shots, eye gauging are OK as long as you are the guy who gets to walk away. My personal fav for self defense in a .38 from 10 feet away =)

  • WHY DOES IT LOOK LIKE THE AIKIDO GUY HAS hALF AN ARM?

  • Just to clarify things, this DOBERMAN7203 is just an utter faggot. Has absolutely no idea what he's even looking at. A few assholes POSTED and RENAMED some aikido video clips (sometimes even the same clips with different titles) and this DOBERMAN believes it like a idiot. Based on that alone you can tell he has absolutely zero ability to understand or comprehend martial arts.

  • ey. my man only has one arm.

  • every style depends on the individual and his/her capabilities . noone where's a sign that says i study aikido so you will be ready so you say useless but next time you grab someone weak like a girl and she puts you right on your ass you will know why . maybe when you wake up you can explain to him /her how useless it is. you don't grab for the wrist they give it to you

  • fuck this shit

  • lol aikido suppose to be useing your opponets energy vs him by flipping him around and throw him away...

but look at this bald guy... his kicking every thing like its a cat fight :-/

  • @DOBERMAN7203 this is no fake , it's the one armed aikidoka from this video /watch?v=pLqovX4G8Z0&feature=related

inform yourself , and then you may be able to say something correct ...

  • Was this held at Kyoto botukoden?

  • ohhh..so when an mma fihgter wins the fight his opponent is a good fighter and the fight is not fake! But when somebody else wins vs an mma the mma fighter is a bad fighter and the fight is fake!yea...hm....i sense a lot of american brainwashed dumb fat mothwerfuckers who train martial arts from the fucking computer !STFU CYBER-WARRIORS!

  • @lukekhealth Dude! I was just thinkin that...first I thought maybe he was hiding it...but no...he wasnt

  • @DOBERMAN7203 from what i understand, the entire point of aikido is to use the opponent's own force against him. from the start, yeah you have to do the "grab my wrist" thing for practice. if you're experienced, you won't need it. but i wouldn't say it's enough. i myself combine aikido and taekwondo together. works great.

  • @DOBERMAN7203 akido for poser's, or wife beaters like steven seagal. these to pussys look like the chick fights i used to see in high school.
