Big Sioux River floodwaters are shown backfilling and reaching into the lower agricultural brome areas on the river's east bank at the location of Sioux City's railroad museum - Milwaukee Railroad Shops Historic District. The floodwaters are inudating the area that is unprotrected by the Big Sioux River dike and levee system in Sioux City, just north of the BNSF mainline into South Dakota.
In addition to the floodwaters, a high water table from a sustained near flood stage flow this spring and hard rains over the past week have contributed to ground water pooling and water runoff through out the 31.5 acre complex.
