How to use the hot-timing reading strategy with self-reflection to support reading literacy skills development for middle school and high school students. The hot-timing reading strategy requires students to read aloud a passage of text while being timed by a teacher or partner. Unlike in "cold timing," with hot-timing the students have read the passage previously and are focusing on fluency rate and accuracy.
