So, America has really always just been a haven for the utmost strains of psychotically narcissistic brats the world over, who have no capacity to bear real humility or an awareness of their own monstrosity?
Makes sense to me.

A couple years back his assessment might have seemed more accurate. But his attempt to pin so many of our American political issues on religious fundamentalism really comes up short. George W. Bush is the only openly fundamentalist president we've had in my lifetime, although various leaders have exploited religious terminology. Obama's foreign policy has not significantly departed from Bush's although the justifications have changed. Is Guantanamo closed? How did Copenhagen go?

@gothgod VERY SAD!!!

@gothgod Where did that come from? How did any of what I said lead you to say that? I am one of the most liberal, Glenn Beck-Hating, people you'll ever meet. Are you high?

@jeffersontool And so you think the War against the indigenous people of the Americas was a lie - that the colonists didn't take part in massacres that massacres such as Wounded Knee and a hundred or a thousand others did not happen. And the US you think didn't take part in the slave trade. And of course you believe anyone believing in equality and economic justice is just a commie. A real American I guess are those who have bought into yours and Glenn Beck's revisionist history. Very Sad!!!

@simon I am German and born right around Nuremberg. I know how Germany was treated and that West Germany was saved by the US because the US is the most humaine and generous country in the world.
a short history of progress is a painfully honest (allmost doomsdayish) book on the evolution and future of humanity. i loved its honesty and insight, i highly recomend.
