ho hum,, the same old thing,, when will pixar grow some _,_,_,s and animate a film about Jews, Muslims or Blacks ? but NOOOOOoooOOOOOO. same darn euro-centric fairy tail story about beautiful whites with flowing hair. being triumphant. I mean no offense but haven't we been here before? Thank almighty GOD for Studio Ghibli.

0:23 i love that artwork, anyone know who the artist is?

I feel torn. Yes, they do use a "viking" stereotype for the people, which is of course upsetting, but I haven't seen much of this girl and I like her. She's not "drop dead gorgeous", like EVERY OTHER ANIMATED PRINCESS EVER, so that's a plus. She seems like a normal girl. Under extraordinary circumstances.

my other complaint also goes iwth her cabage patch doll face. I showed my dad the girl from this movie and he was like WOW cabage patch doll.. When he said that I was thinking of this one my sister had when we were kids same weird red hair too!
I think she's a hundred times more immature than Ariel and thats saying something. We see her physically throw herself down on the floor. Its like wow temper tantrum? Really? A grown woman? A PRINCESS throwing herslef on the floor?

My biggest hate goes to the Main girl I'm sorry but tame her hair a bit atleast make an effor that doesn't invovle what they have her wearing at some point in the movie. The concept art is lovely the movie surroundings are breath taking the animals amazing, the PEOPLE make me sick.
Its an INSULT to the Scottish heritage. You see all these ugly, smelly people and its like really thats all you think scottish people are? Mirda or whatever her name is would look better with dif hair.

@Shab0w boring people are gonna spout cliches, and see boring-ass mainstream movies
you people give smart people who care about art A LOT to hate. 's okay. friction is what makes independent art. it's doubtful grunge rock would have happened if it wasn't for gay shit like Paula Abdul and Aladdin. It'll come back around, fanboy

@FutureRevolutions I mean small as in unknown by the American mainstream. Most of the moms who love shit like Reese Witherspoon and Sandra Bullock movies and are taking there kids to see the CGI movies that come out every flippin month aren't aware of Miyazaki films, so its okay to steal from them. It's okay to steal from smaller unknown artists, Alladin steals from Richard Williams, Lion King from Simba, PIXAR from more shit than I can name... CGI is edging out opportunites for artists.

@ifinitesimilarity Actually those movies aren't small at all. They have a big budget as Hayao is world renound and rivered. They often pay homage to each other in there movies. Disney/Pixar doesn't/don't have to steal anything. Anime and American Cartooning have been trading tactics for decades. Hayao has never talked bad about Disney/Pixar and has in fact done a few high profile team ups with them. If you want to be mad at Disney do it because they're racist/ultraconservative

Please tell me I'm not the only one who sees Koume & Kotake from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time in that old woman.

I think you don't know any guy from Pixar or Disney and nothing about the creation of characters. If you think that a character is only defined about a look, then you know nothing. And by the way, she looks a bit different. HATERS GONNA HATE
that old witchy woman with the bulging eye looks EXACTLY like a recurring Hayao Miyazaki character. I mean, EXACTLY. Spirited Away, Howl's... what is the deal with Dinsy/Pixar ripping off ideas from movies that are more obscure and independent than theirs? I mean its pretty crafty stealing your ideas from smaller films most people haven't seen, but ITS ALSO WRONG

I know I will probably get "thumbs down" for this but... I don't really want to see another princess movie... they all seem to be that way. When I see the preview all I can see is Pixar cashing in on red haired dolls. I would rather have a male lead. Then again I am not a 12 year old girl which, I am sure, the movie will be targeted at.

@wheelzwheela Disney will want to milk Merida for all she's worth as a potential addition to the Disney Princess line, but I doubt Pixar shares their sentiment.
You're a bit sexist, tho.

@wheelzwheela buddy, out of all the pixar films, this is the second or third movie with a female lead.

@DennisNguyen88 This is the first Pixar movie with a female lead. Everything else you think is Pixar is prolly Disney or Dreamworks.
