"mi morami o oprosti ni" - an attempt to translate "we must learn to forgive them" into Serbo-Croat, so that it could be pinned on the noticeboard of an ethnically mixed refugee camp during the Serbia-Croatia-Bosnia war in 1995.
Kim Phuc survived becoming "collateral damage" from the fire bombing of Vietnam in 1972. Her burns left her body permanently scarred, but her spirit has recovered thanks to her having learned how to forgive.
The Worldwide Petition for Peace implicitly supports Kim's philosophy. She has put her finger on the key principle that forgiveness is the only roadmap to peaceful coexistence.
Please sign the petition, and pass it on. It will only have any meaning if we all sign. You are only 7 steps away from touching everyone alive today.
Just take the first step and tell a few friends. The rest will happen naturally, if they and their friends in turn, do the same.
Roland'o is hoping 1 in 5 of us will sign. It won't change the world.
But it might make a small change to the way we think about it. And that may make a (albeit smaller) change in the way in which political leaders think about it.

Belief is powerful. Blind Faith can be dangerous, but belief in the possibility of peace has a wonderful placebo effect. Just signing the petition made me feel happier and more optmistic for the future of humankind. Thank you, Roland'o, for your inspiration.
