The Spats was also the name of a California band in the mid-60's,including members, Dick Johnson (vocalist), Bud Johnson (rhythm guitar), Ron Johnson (bass) Mike Sulsona (drums), Chuck Showalter (piano), Bob Dennis (saxophone), Myron Carpino (lead guitar), and later Doug Rhodes (tuba,keyboards songs "Scooby Doo" and "She done Moved"). This group released an LP and several singles including "Gator tails and Monkey Ribs" (written by Alonzo B.Willis) which had received some local airplay. Other members included David Amaro on Lead Guitar, and when Bud was drafted in 1968, Stephen Anderson joined on Rhythm Guitar and Backing Vocals.

  • okay, now i've having flashbacks and odd things are on the wall....

  • Played a gig with Bob Dennis tonight. His primary instrument is bass now.

  • My garage band covered this song when I was in junior high school in the Valley. We had a farfisa organ.

  • The lead guitarist on "She Done Moved" was Greg DeLorto. We used to work together. John "Chris" Christensen

  • pretty heavy stuff

  • I had this record on the Edgewood label.

  • Amost a perfect garage band recording - these guys coulda been great if they hadnt done the bubble gum stuff too
