The Sony KDL46Z5100 46" BRAVIA Z Series LCD HD Television has a narrow bezel and thin cabinet depth that delivers an impressive list of features wrapped up into one stylish design. The KDL-46Z5100 includes Full HD 1080p and Motionflow" 240Hz refresh rate technology for maximum motion detail and clarity. The KDL-46Z5100 also has Internet connectivity with built-in BRAVIA Internet video capabilities that let you view select on-demand movies and TV shows, listen to music and more. You can even personalize your entertainment experience by selecting and positioning widgets containing the latest news, weather, sports and more directly on your TV screen. In addition to 7 HD inputs, the BRAVIA Z has a 100,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio which yields deep blacks in darker scenes.
The pinnacle of the Sony LCD line was the XBR9, which there isn't much difference between the Z5100 series and the XBR9 series. Both the Z and the XBR9 contain nearly the same exact features. In fact there is only one real between the two series of TVs and that was the backlighting. The XBR9 contains Wide Color Gamut Fluorescent backlighting ( WCG-CCFL) which gave it a wider color range than the Z Series. The other differences are very minor, which are aesthetics and the number of speakers.
