is this program capable of transcribing a vocal piece onto sheet music?
-
There is a control panel where you can set the overall volume mix, and a multi-band equalizer that you can use to isolate individual instruments. It can't completely remove specific instruments, but it can help if you're, for example, trying to just hear a flute over guitar backup.

how do i remove instruments such as bass or guitar, and more importantly can i turn down the volume of transcribe without turning down my computer volume.

I have used amazing slowdowner for years, , but wasn't satisfied with the quality when slowing down a file, so i decided to look around and see if I could find one with better sound quality, and Transcribe did it for me, when I slow down with Trancribe, the sound is less wavy and less garble and less echo, I choose Transcribe over amazing slowdowner, not to mention all the other bells and wistles like being able to slow down movies as well

uhm.. how can you save the file to an mp3 file?

Inside Transcribe, from the File/Export menu, you can export the audio, either the entire file or a selection, along with all the changes to pitch and speed to a .wav or .aiff file. These can then be opened in iTunes or other audio players and then converted to .mp3.

Hey madfortrad5958,
Do you learn tunes by playing along with recordings or do you use sheet music? Transcribe is for learning by ear, you learn by listening and imitating. Often times, commercial recordings are played at full speed and its hard to figure out the notes, this allows you to slow down the tune and work them out at a more reasonable speed.

I generally learn all my tunes by ear from recordings, then might use sheet music just to remind me how to start a tune. For traditional Irish music, sheet music generally isn't very useful, it doesn't adequately represent the nuances of tunes as they are really played.
