I'm 28, when I was at school, PE was mandatory all year round for the whole of your school education right up till the end of high-school. We did PE twice a week. I'm shocked that this is now not the case in many schools. Parents and school governers should be ashamed of themselves for letting things get this bad.

I am moderately obese and I LOVE physical activity. I have biked to seven counties: Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Alameda, Santa Cruz, and San Benito. I have walked to San Jose three times, and to Redwood City and Saratoga once each. The Redwood City walk was somewhat more than a marathon. I have biked to San Francisco 21 times, 70 km one-way. Oakland is about the same distance, and I rode my bike there once. I have even biked to Hollister, 100 km one-way.
