A lot of Libertarians do join the Republican Party, but it is due to the fact that they have more in common with them then the Dems. ( lIke Ron Paul and his son) We do have to have a 2 party system, and the libertarians know that until their party get's bigger they don't want to divide votes because then the Dems. will win.

Libertarians differ from Republicans in that they are social liberals where Republicans have slowly become religious fascist when it comes to individual rights.

@maciindrew Do you understand that Cap and Trade will increase electricity rates by up to 50%. That means that every manufacturing facility in the United States will have higher production cost making us much less competitive. Please explain your rational how increasing production costs can possibly make us more competitive. There are think tanks that estimate that up to 3 million manufacturing jobs will be lost if this thing passes.

Wages have not kept up because industry couldn't afford it, they were being taxed to high by government.

The gov't got your raise, the raise you deserved and now the democrats who were the ones who initiated these taxes, want to save the day with socialism

There is no shift of income here. Taxes belong to the elected government, even before the encumbered taxes were actually paid. Taxes are a priviledge and a right of passage to citizenship. If you don't want to be a US citizen, get the hell out, and then you can stop paying your dues.
