You made me realise a lot through this video. Thank you. I have a question though. I live in England and most of my friends are non muslims, there is a lot of back bitting that goes on, shall I still defend the other person even though they are non muslim ?

Many of the hadith I referenced in the video are generally aimed towards defending the rights of our Muslim brothers and sisters. In terms of backbiting non-Muslims, I honestly am not too sure of the rulings in regards to it. However, it is still best to avoid aimless and non-beneficial talk of course :)

Masallah, this is the first video i saw from yours, and its amazing. Your lecture was 100% true, backbiting is bad, and because its so common and typical it makes us hard to realize when we're doing it. But the best thing to do is to think before you speak. However, I have a question, what if your not backbiting someone but your in a conversation where the other person is, are your deeds given to the one being spoken about as well, because your actually listening??? Curious...

Allahu Alim, I'm not sure, but we should stand up for our brothers and sisters when people are talking about them negatively.

The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, what translated means, "He among you who witnesses an evil, let him change (stop, remove) it with his hand, if he could not, then with his tongue, and if he could not, then with his heart, and this is the weakest Iman." [Al-Bukhari]
