Marty Simon was a great composer for this series - some operatic, some disco/techno, and some folk, but this, "The Lexx Escape" was the most exciting and fit the scene...yes 0.58 someone has noted....completely pulled me into the series. Fans, including me, fought to keep this on the air. ...and I hated the ending.

@FatBlackFrancis (season 1 spoilers) For me, the memory I associate with that guitar riff is the Lexx suddenly appearing out of nowhere to confront the Gigashadow.

@ViolentMarv or its just a name?
This tune brings back so many memories!! I watched Lexx when it first aired and I hadn't seen too much sci-fi before. The bit at 0:58 seconds when the guitars come in is an iconic part of the pilot episode that i remember. They are gliding the leviathanic-vessel that is Lexx out of his hanger and over the city. The mixture of seeing something THAT big attempt to creep slowly out into the darkness combined with the starting of the guitar part was iconic! My first sci-fi memory!

@KazzaTV And it means "Shellfish" in japanese.
Also I remember listening to a lecture once on the history of Maori language, originally kai was a label for potatos or kumaras, starchy foods. But then gradually came to mean food in general.
Kinda like in japan how gohan means "rice" but also "food"
So yea. Perhaps his name means Potato :P
