Gibraltar 's Brent Barnett, all 200 lbs, does pull ups on a Gibraltar rack tom mount to prove that using memory locks correctly will prevent your toms from slipping. Brent demo's how to use a combo of slip on and hinged memory locks to prevent any movement on the bar or the clamp. This is key tool that drummers use as the memory locks memorizes the position of the tubes providing faster stage set ups. They also provide stability to the rack.
Pretty much this ends the discussion on slippage... unless your toms are over 200 lbs!

what is that L rod hardware called, ive been looking for something like that for a road series rack i just purchased, and since my tama swingstar uses l rods, i would really appreciate the name or what hardware could be sued to mount them

The L-rods used are the SC-DWLR, which have a 12.7mm knurled mounting post. We also have the SC-SLR, which has a 10.5mm knurled mounting post

Whats actually the sturdiest rack system?? Ive got my eye on the road series.. But if the Power racks are better can I expand it in the same way as the road series?

The Road Series and Chrome Series racks are definitely the most sturdy and superior rack systems we offer. For the gigging, touring drummer, Road Series and Chrome Series can take the beating. Not only is it the most sturdy system, but it has a larger variety of clamps to choose from to help you customize your personal set up.

Gibraltar SC-SLR Super L-Rod 26.5Mm-10.5Mm. it has a 26.5 mm large side for attaching to a multi-clamp, and the 10.5mm side fits my tama's just fine. also consider the SC-HML105 10.5mm Hinged Memory Lock, because the stock tama memory locks do not fit on the gibraltar L arms. :)

and what's your reasoning that you shouldnt make your complete unit? i had my toms mounted with the stock tom arms and a multiclamp to a round bar rack, and i had decent adjustment. i have my toms mounted in this fashion now, with the super L arms, super multiclamps, and memory locks and i have far more adjustment and options than i did with the stock ones. now my stock tom mounts carry cowbells and tambourines. what exactly is your reason for only adjusting through cymbal arms or tom mounts?

Can someone tell me which tom mount and tom arm are those? Or anyone who will support that kind of arm, for a DW or PDP rack tom

If I go with pearls rack system I won't need to purchase memory locks... Sure a circular pipe will give you infinite angles, but all your angle adjustments should be made with your Tom arm or cymbal arm, not to whole complete unit. Gibraltar makes some good stuff, but I don't think a circular bar is the best design for a rack system.

Which ones would I need to mount my Tama tom's to my v-rack? I see I should use 10.5mm l-rods but I hear that the clam only works with 12.7mm and up?

that only gives you four angles. a circular bar allows infinite angles.
