They are good. Make sure you change the water a lot and you won't ever have to change the hepa filter. One mistake people make is the fill the water basin, then vacuum the entire house.......When done, the basin has thick water........Thick muddy water can't filter, and dirt will bounce off the thick muddy water and go into the hepa.......Simply changing the water will keep this from happening.......Rainbow doesn't mention this for some reason in the instructions. Why I don't know
