This is amateur and newsreel film of the Ballets Russes on tour - on stage but mostly off.
The off stage footage shows the company often larking round and generally having fun. Which nicely takes away from the heavy artistic burden carried by the enterprise, particularly in retrospect.
If you could help identify some of the dancers and teachers that are not obvious that would be great!
hi anneaylor - i must confess having made a few videos now, i've gotten quicker - the real time taken is finding something interesting to upload. i love this one too - the ballets russes is often taken with such seriousness and it's nice to see the dancers just being ordinary and having fun and larking about. great you like what i'm putting here - this interest is what gives me energy! cheers

hi PureSoapCleans - yes, they have moved into legend - luck they made the documentary in 2005 when there were still some of the dancers round to talk about the ballets russes experience. cheers

They were all beautiful people. great artists, generous human beings that enriched our existence and our world. God Bless Them~! Eternal memory for those who are gone, their aura will live forever. What an inspiration and love to dance. Thanks for sharing these clips!
