An extensively narrated video tour of the WWII Memorial the week after it was opened to the public. It was prepared for a veteran with visual and physical impairments who was unable to visit the memorial personally. The filmmaker hopes other veterans will enjoy it too. All inscriptions are read aloud. (Edited down to 10 min.)

  • Great tribute and description! I am proud to say that my son, a professional stonecarver, did some of the work on this Memorial (mainly the lettering). He even added the Kilroy inscription, hidden near the back, in an alcove. Thanks for the great video and thank you for helping us to remember all the sacrifices made for our freedom.

  • Thanks for the tip about Kilroy. I will look next time. I would have read it into the record if I had known! PH

  • Great vid.. I visited the memorial back in 05 and it made me sad and a little angry seeing that there were gum everywhere on the floor where people just spit it out on the momorial.. can't people show some respect and compassion?

  • Grandpa would've loved this.

  • MW2

  • went there and saw it excellent craftsmanship

  • I'm sick of people taking their freedom for granted, they don't realize the honorable sacrifices that where made from revolutionary war, to now. If it wasn't for the millions of people who died, we wouldn't be her to saver OUR "freedom". So lets give it to them who gave there lives to withhold liberty, peace, and freedom.

  • @lasinlo why not?

  • Why didn't he talk about kill Roy which is engraved twice in th outside ring of the memorial?

  • I really appreciate this video since I will never be able to see it in person.

  • to call any one eras' military the ''greatest generation'' is very insulting. there were many other generations that went to war when called. and there will be many more to come. No need to clutter with mounuments either.
