Songs don't ruin people's lives.
The reality is that people usually ruin their own lives ...

It was my first day of high school i was 13 at the time, even to this day i will never forget what our woodworking teacher told us. Once he had finished explaining all the safety procedures of the woodworking class, he paused for a while. He then told us that being young is just a fleeting moment in time, that before we realise, it is gone and only the memories remain. He said that our schoolyears will be some of our best years, and not to hate but enjoy them. I now see HOW RIGHT HE WAS,

a question for anyone who was a teen in the east end back then - - was this film a fairly accurate reflection of the way things really were? if you could add to or take away anything from this film to make it more accurate, what would it be?

Interesting to see what England was like during the 60's, Lulu had such an impressive set of pipes right up there with the likes of Petula Clark, the Who, Chad and Jeremy, and all the other singers that made up the British invasion. It's even more interesting that Patricia Routledge (hen-pecked social climber Hyacinth from the Britcom "Keeping Up Appearances") is in this as a teacher @ 2:16, gee, I wonder how Hyacinth would react to the movie's surroundings? LOL Still a great movie nonetheless.

A very young Eric Stewart (on the right) playing the guitar during the opening shots. Later, of course, to find worldwide fame with 10cc (he wrote 'I'm Not In Love') and subsequently as a producer of many classic albums.
