The M9 has been in service now for over 25 years and in that same period of time many new gun makers and model have emerge mostly driven by the civilian market and their need to protect their home and business in this tough economic times.

With the introduction of many new firearms designs the Army is looking to replace their aging Beretta platform for something new and up to date to keep up with the changing times.

The M9 has serve our military well for many years but through those years there has been many issues with the same that the military wishes to address with this new service pistol program.
The limitations the new pistol must overcome include:

• The slide-mounted safety. When solders rack the slide to alleviate a jam or stovepipe in the M9, they often inadvertently engage the safety — and won't realize this until they reacquire and squeeze the trigger.

• The open-slide design, which allow contaminants and dirt into the system.

• The lack of a modular grip, integrated rail and night-sight capabilities.

• The inability to suppress.

• Limited service life — replacement should have a service life of at least 25,000 rounds.

  • why not the hk usp?

  • @shoopwhoopX

The usp is a really nice pistol. I love looking at it and it feels great in the had. Just an outstanding firearm.

  • Nice fucking title to the video....Misleading. We still use the Beretta..you butt pirate. Thanks for wasting my time.. It would be nice to see a US made service pistol eg Springfield or Smith and Wesson. Thanks for keeping the Patriotism alive with the idea of a another foreign made piece of plastic in the hands of American grunts. To conform with GAYTO and have things measured in millimeters, a .500 S&@W magnum is aprox. 12.7 or so millimeters.

  • @fringeless

I'm kind of glad my tittle brought you here. It seems like you have a whole bunch of incoherent shit to say. I'm glad my video serve as therapy to you. Now speaking of butt pirate if you also want to come out of the closet during this comment session I'm here for you and to tell you its ok to be gay.

  • @paddmaddproductions OHHH MYYY GODD, YOUR FUCKING KIDDING ME RIGHT, Buying cheap shit like that is what puts us in debt.....Jesus Christ, You might as well big the lower 5% raking in all the money while your country is fucked, thats why we have no jobs in the US and Canada, because of idiots like you, thats exactly what fucks country's up economically...I just can believe someone would be dumb enough to say that, now I know some people are that clueless and they do exist.

  • @zaldivarbigboy you do live in America right? The U.S. Army is notorious for taking the lowest bid from companies when it comes to equipment.

  • I have an M9 25 Anniversary. I also don't care for the slide mounted safety/decocker (it actually used to be on the frame - not sure why they moved it). Other than that it really has proven itself as pretty durable. The grip size complaint is valid as well.

My biggest problem with the M9 is that it's not a really accurate gun. Shooting tight patterns with it is pretty difficult. Hell, there isn't even a barrel bushing to support the barrel, and you can move it up and down with your fingers

  • I like how the fnp has the red dot like the beretta

  • @zaldivarbigboy Hes right, we should be useing American manufactured gear. Our economy is toooo important, more important than Israel or Terrorists. So if we use our tax dollars on forgin made gear then were basically taking money out of our economy and injecting it in others at an alarming rate, weve spend trillions on these wars, enough is enough

  • g-21 sf gen4 would be an awsome replacement but there never do it because it has no safety :(
