  • For all u stanford people leaving bs comments let me say that 1) the only reason its taking cal a long time to build a stadium is cus its actually gonna look good and feel good, unlike stanford where on the second level when ever someone moves it feels like an fn earthquake 2)if stan. students r so smart y cant they line up on the right side of a kickoff(watch big game).

  • why have I never heard this version of the broadcast before?

  • because its the crapy stanford version

at the postgame there crying and saying the refs screwed up and he was down that crap

  • If it's so crappy, why did you post it? I believe if that play had happened on a nuetral field, the officials would have not caved in and declared it a touchdown just so they could escape without the fans attacking them. Also, the replay system used today would have ended the play when the cal player was down before he lateraled the ball.

  • cus i didnt have the cal version and its pretty ovious yur a cal hater.

  • Are you serious??? It took them over a year just to get a bunch of idiots out of the trees! With all of the nutjobs in positions of authority in Berkeley and the numerous environmental groups there, they will NEVER build a new stadium. The best you can hope for is to fix up that rotting dump so it's not such an national embarassment. Even that will probably take fifteen years to start. Face it, Berkeley is the worst place to build anything. Stanford gets things done--on time and under budget.

  • 5 memorable events for Stanford? 1) Stanford built a new stadium in 9 months while cal is in a ratty dump, 2) Stanford has been in 3 Rose Bowls since cal's last one in 1959, 3) The 1990 Big Game when Stanford scored 9 points in the final 12 seconds to win 27-25, 4) The 7 straight Big Game wins from 1995-2001 which is the longest winning streak, 5) The biggest upset ever when Stanford beat USC in LA--a 41 point underdog, [bonus one] Stanford had the greatest coach ever: the legendary Bill Walsh

  • Holy. Shit.

  • the announcer sounds like a Muppet...

  • @abbeywood22 Although the Stanford guys were better with the player identification, Starkey perfectly conveyed the insanity as Moen was about to score..."THE BAND IS OUT ON THE FIELD!!! HE GOING TO GO INTO THE END ZONE!!!! HE"S GONE INTO THE END ZONE!!!!"

  • @Naperdude05 I'm simply pointing out that the officials missed multiple calls. The Pac 10 admitted a few days later that there should have been an illegal formation penalty on cal for not having enough players within ten yards of the kick. The officials missed the player being down while he still had the ball as well as at least one forward lateral. They're human and they make mistakes. The band running on the field made it hard to see the forward lateral, but the ball did travel forward.

  • @ForeverYoung58 Starkey loses control during exciting plays. When Kevin Riley melted down against Oregon State and stupidly tried to run from the ten instead of throwing the ball away so cal could kick the tying field goal, it took Starkey about two minutes after the play (and the game) was over to say what had actually happened. All I knew was that he didn't throw the ball away. That all Starkey kept saying. He's horrible on exciting plays. He doesn't tell the listener what's happening.

The officials ruled it a touchdown because: 1) Kevin Moen made it into the end zone with the football; and 2) there were no penalties called against Cal. It had nothing to do with the game being in Berkeley.

BTW, the only people who "clearly" see that Garner's knee was down are those who wear Cardinal-colored glasses. For the rest of the world, the video evidence does not support a conclusion one way or the other.
