The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have been spoken about it in great detail during the election campaign so far. But it seems military threats from other sources are still of great concern to US voters.

A recent survey conducted by the Financial Times found that China was the country that most Americans perceived as a potential military threat.

In the first of a special series on ties between the United States and China, Tony Cheng traveled to Hawaii to look at the relations between these two military giants.

  • @TalonMercenary Human wave works, you need to know what can work. Even today any General agree need more men. Technology can do so much end of day need more men.

  • @glsblink Chinese human wave attacks didnt work in the Korean war though. Its not war, its slaughter

  • @TalonMercenary lol that was worst to compare man. u talking rifle vs spear. and the rifle at that time was dual action rifle. If the British use mu-skeet they all going to get fuck by ZULU. Korea War Chinese use human wave and that shock the entire UN troops until they stop by heavy and air power. Lucky at that time china Navy and air power is very weak. Currently things are different u may said china tech still low but they no far behind.

  • @glsblink In war quantity over quality is very rarely better. Just look at the Battle of Rorke's Drift: 200 British soldiers successfully hold out against 4000 zulu warriors, losing only 20 men compared to the zulus 1000

Why don't you go back to school and read a little more you make STUPID remarks that the US lost the Vietnam War. That is the BIGGEST myth every about any war in history. In 1973, North Vietnam's back was to the wall and they came to Paris Peace Talks. US agreed to withdraw ONLY per the peace accords and did so over a six month period in first half of 1973. South Vietnam forces were to protect South. North violated and overran south after US had left.

  • @AzerChristians

You stupid fuck, I was talking about the Vietnam War, not Korea. You fucking idiot. Those photos of helicopters being ditched were in May, 1975, TWO FULL YEARS after all US combat forces had left Vietnam. That is the photo of a helicopter on a carrier during the embassy evacuation TWO YEARS after US left and only embassy people remained. The war was unpopular and funding was cut by Congress but US military was not defeated; it was ONLY and I say ONLY a political defeat.

  • @DontBuyChinese On one hand you said US won EVERY major battle, but then the FIRST thing you said was Korean war ended in a truce... you ARE indeed a DUMB FUCK ! LOL. How can US have won when you had a truce? Now, then Vietnam war also ended where US had to ditch helicopters into the ocean to save lives, had to ABANDON all their bases because? Nixon saw there was NO WAY to win !! just like in Afghanistan now against Afghan thugs by well trained Marines after 10 years?? LOL. Don't LIE to urself.

  • @AzerChristians

BULL SHIT. The Korean war ended in a truce--dumb fuck. The US withdraw from Vietnam because funding was cut by Congress, NOT because US was losing--that's a crock of shit. US won EVERY major battle. US forces were out of Vietnam by mid-1973. Saigon fell in May, 1975, dumb fuck, and US wasn't even there.

  • i believe china and usa is almost even. Chinese have plenty solider to spare with some good tech. As USA may be high tech. Anyway quantity has a quality.

Cause these quantity have a good tech. but USA have great tech but quantity is the issue.

  • @Raymund925 yes! exactly, the US still has the upperhand against the Chinese and you wanna know what else? The new Chinese aircraft carrier is actually a Soviet aircraft carrier irself, the Varyag, sister of the admiral kuznetsov and the Chinese only REFURBUSHED IT. UNLIKE INDIA OR THAILAND, its an indigenous aircraft carrier, meaning the entire ship was built in Indian or Thailand soil. Unlike China, they bought the Varyag from ussr and only rebuilt it.
