The two Genz Benz Black Pearl 30's are on a relatively clean setting for the first part for each guitar. Sennheiser 906 on the left, Shure KSM27 on the right. Echo Gina 3G soundcard into Cakewalk Sonar.

After the clean comes the Effectrode Tube Drive with a 1985 NOS General Electric JAN 5965, then the Fulltone PlimSoul and finally both amps with their built in boost cranked to the max.

First two Strats use the overdrive pedals on a bluesy setting and the Tele and humbucker Stat have them on crunchier settings. The little Stage 2 knob on the PlimSoul is off for the bluesy setting but cranked for the crunchy setting.

The real time sound analyzer is taking the feed only from the guitar track. I did some tempo changes in Sonar which talks to the TimeLine via MIDI. Can't figure out how to automatically change presets via Sonar though.

Synth type sound between some sections is the Tele into Strymon TimeLine and BlueSky on ambient settings.

First Strat is a Warmoth with Lollar Specials on the neck plus middle position. Second is the G&L S-500 in open G with Lollar Blondes in the neck and middle position. Third is Warmoth Tele in DADGAD with Lollar Vintage T's in neck and bridge position. Last is the Black Korina Warmoth Strat in Frank Gambale tuning with a Lollar Imperial F-spaced humbucker.

  • Thanks for checking out the vid and the of course the comments are much appreciated! I am going to try a similar type thing utilizing the Cakewalk Sonar spectrum analyzer there in addition to using the iZotope spectrum analyzer for a germanium fuzz demo comparing carbon zinc batteries vs. alkaline batteries.

  • Thank you for your job to make that video, nice! You play realy good!

Only one proposal if you mind - would be better somtimes no delay, no background sounds.

I wanted to hear sound only Effectrode Tube Dribe against PlimSoul A/B , some power chords and short frase ( melody) will be enough. But with delay/echo sound is less focused.

    Any ways thank you again!

  • Nice one.

  • It's cool to see the relative symmetry in the clipping between the different sounds.

  • so cool , wish you would do more. IT BLOWS MY MIND EVERY TIME YOU BRING OUT A NEW VID

  • very nice!
