  • First of all, the counterweight is NOT attached with masking tape and was attached very securely. Second, if you are going to attach a 25 lb counterweight, you would probably want to build something a bit more substantial anyway. This was an elementary school project and was perfectly fine for the weights used and for the purposes for which it was made. If you're going to use heavier weights, build a bigger trebuchet with sturdier components that are made to hold more weight.

  • @TheDrumMaster2000 how many pounds was the counterweight you used?

  • That is a very cool trebuchet. I hope you had a lot of fun building it, and keep up the good work!

  • This is like the least safe "catapult" ever first of all it's a trebuchete not a catapult and the counterweight is so hazardous I mean the thing is attached with masking tape! I can just see the weight flying off and hurting someone. And the release system, I bet if you used a 25lb counterweight it would fail.

  • Awesome.

  • Hooray for siege engines!

  • A trebuchet and a catpult are two completely different things.

  • A pretty cool catapult I must say, good job
