In this episode of Let's Play Lufia II we continue right where we left off yesterday with The World's Most Difficult Trick. That's basically the toughest puzzle in the game, but the rewards are very good (though maybe not worth the time investment if you don't already know the solution).

I won't lie, I didn't just do this by memory, nor did I just wing it the first time around. I actually looked up a solution and did a practice run or two before I was comfortable enough to solve it reliably. You can tell that at some point I hesitate before making the next move. That's me essentially going: "oh crap... what next?"

As a rough guide, one of the first goals is to get the four big vertical blocks all at the top of the screen. That will allow you to more accurately maneuver the big block around, because you can just use the smaller squares to create little bits of progress. I'm not sure if this is the optimal way of doing it, but hey, it works!

Right after the puzzle we make our way to the boss of this place and talk to a certain elder of Chaed, who tells us about the fabled land of the mermaids, known as Preamarl! That's an exciting prospect for the next big, to be sure.

Like I said in the video, if you haven't fought the Egg Dragon yet at this point, now would be the time to do it. The Lizard Blow deals severe damage to it, and by this point in the game your levels are probably at least a little bit higher than mine were during the fight with the Egg Dragon. You could wait even longer to fight it, but that takes most of the fun out of it.

  • @ESaldivar007 That's kind of a morbid way to think about the game, but yeah... Maybe he did. There's gonna be payback soon, though.

  • @MrDarumo I only discovered this puzzle a few years ago myself. I couldn't be bothered with the wall-bomb puzzle for the first several years, lol.

  • It took me like 2 hours to solve that puzzle. And the gate before that.. it took me another 1 hour XD

  • Thats a pretty awesome puzzle. Ive never seen it, but that was pretty cool.

As for the old man in the volcano after the battle... you mentioned that it was odd that he'd just walk out unless he has a hook. if he didnt, then that means he took the long way out, but sealed off that exit you went through. He meant for you to die in that place!
