This is my entry in the TSO "Wizards in Winter" contest. Hopefully I didn't hurt my chances TOO much by submitting so close to the deadline.

-edit-
Since the deadline's been extended, I'll probably be uploading a new entry, or at least a new version of this vid. I'm not certain why the sound/video synch is out of whack after uploading to Youtube (it's fine on the version on my PC), but I have some suspicions, and will definitely fix that before putting up a new one.
-end edit-

about the audio:
I recorded my guitar direct through a Korg processor and mixed it with the contest backing track. There's also some camera audio mixed in partly so you can tell the guitar track is really the take from the video and partly because it seemed strange to have no sound before the mixed backing+guitar starts. The only tweaking done to the guitar track was to raise the volume on the lead sections. Otherwise it's exactly as I played it while shooting the video.

  • Hey Ailsean, it's nice to see you on YouTube! Good luck with the contest, I guess the low ratings are part of rough competition, hopefully TSO aren't influenced by those. For the sound desync, you have to use these settings: MPEG4 (Divx, Xvid) format, 320x240, mp3 audio, 30fps. You can use CinemaForge (free) to convert any video to those settings.

  • you rule dude!

  • nice tone
